Washington - The United Food and Commercial Workers International Union has reached a tentative agreement with IBP for the 2,000 workers at the Waterloo, Iowa plant. Workers will receive details of the proposal at meetings late last week.

The workers' Bargaining Committee, their UFCW Local 431, and the UFCW International Union are recommending that the workers ratify the new contract proposal.

The 1.4 million member UFCW is the largest organization of meat packing workers in North America, representing workers at the nation's largest packing companies including IBP, Excel, Swift, Monfort, and Hormel.
