001269 USDA Subsidizes 72 Tons of Poultry to Mideast

Washington - The U.S. Agriculture Department said it had subsidized a sale of 72 tonnes of frozen poultry to Middle East countries.

USDA paid a subsidy of $625 per tonne to Tyson Foods Inc. The total subsidy value was $45,000.

The Middle East nations can purchase another 18,728 tonnes of U.S.- subsidized poultry under the 2000/01 Export Enhancement Program, USDA said.
