001245 USDA Subsidizes 152 Tonnes Poultry to Mideast

Washington - The U.S. Agriculture Department said it had subsidized a sale of 152 tonnes of frozen poultry to Middle East countries.

USDA paid a subsidy of $650 per tonne to Tyson Foods Inc. The total subsidy value was $98,800.

The Middle East nations can purchase another 19,290 tonnes of U.S.- subsidized poultry under the 2000/01 Export Enhancement Program, USDA said.
