980756 Boston Market Advertises Low-Fat Menu

Golden, Colo. - Television spots advertising Boston Market's low-fat menu choices begin . This is the first time the company has advertised its low-fat entrees and side dishes nationwide.

The ads promote low-fat items, which account for approximately 23% of the menu, with the theme: "Low fat food at Boston Market? That's right...So let us do the cooking with delicious food you can really feel good about." In addition, menu boards in the 1149 Boston Market restaurants across the country now highlight low-fat items.

"Customers give us high marks for our great tasting food," said Keith Robinson, chief marketing officer. "But - they don't realize that nearly one fourth of the menu is low in fat. People want low-fat options. We want to make sure they know Boston Market has them."

Both the 15-second and 30-second TV spots, which run through August 9, 1998, highlight Boston Market's rotisserie roasted turkey breast with just one fat gram per serving. Also mentioned are Boston Market's "mouth-watering low- fat side dishes that include whole kernel corn, fresh fruit salad, steamed vegetables and garlic dill new potatoes." Other low-fat menu items include a variety of Boston Carver sandwiches that can be requested without cheese or sauce; one-quarter white chicken without skin or wing; cranberry relish and butternut squash.

The low fat options available at Boston Market restaurants contain no more than 30% of calories from fat and no more than 3 grams of fat per reference amount (as defined by the FDA).
