980604 Dominick's Opens 12 Fresh Stores

Northlake IL - Dominick's officials announced today that they will hold grand re-openings of 12 existing stores on Tuesday, June 9 at 8:30 a.m. The stores were former Omni stores that have been remodeled with the Dominick's fresh store format, which offers a broad assortment of fresh, colorful and unique foods, innovatively merchandised to add fun and excitement to the food shopping experience.

The fresh stores offer expanded fresh produce and floral sections, top- quality seafood, pre-prepared meat entrees, and corner cafes with take-home and eat-in selections.

Also featured are Dominick's Chef's Collection side dishes and entrees, which include Yankee Pot Roast, mashed potatoes, tri-color pasta, chicken almond grape salad and a variety of heart-healthy dishes.

This marks the completion of Dominick's $50 million remodeling program to transform former Omni stores into Dominick's fresh stores.

President and CEO Bob Mariano commented, "Our customers have voted for their store of choice in Chicagoland through their loyalty to Dominick's fresh stores, which have earned a strong reputation for fresh, high-quality perishable products and outstanding value. With these remodels now completed, more than a half million Chicagoland customers will have a Dominick's fresh store conveniently located nearby."
