March 18, 1998

Livingston, CA - Short on time to make dinner? Foster Farms comes to the rescue with two new flavors of Savory Servings, its award-winning line of marinated skinless, boneless chicken breasts, which go from package to plate in less than 30 minutes. Savory Servings' new flavors -- Mesquite Barbecue and Honey Dijon -- join four other ready-to-cook varieties including Roasted Garlic & Herb, Lemon Herb, Sun-Dried Tomato & Basil, and Teriyaki Ginger.

The Savory Servings line recently received the American Tasting Institute's "Best Taste" award. In a taste test judged by professional chefs in the San Francisco Bay Area, Savory Servings was selected from more than 400 low-fat products as one of the best for 1998.

"Fresh, homemade meals have never been easier," said John Bartelme, director of marketing for Foster Farms. "With the new Savory Servings flavors, Foster Farms offers the busy home cook a variety of ways to look like a gourmet chef in a matter of minutes."

Foster Farms, the only West Coast poultry company that sells branded fresh marinated chicken, introduced the Savory Servings line last year to meet the needs of busy, health- conscious consumers looking for quick, healthy and fresh meal solutions. Savory Servings can be prepared in 15 to 25 minutes, contains less than three grams of fat per four-ounce serving and packs a whopping 22 grams of protein per serving. Total calories range from 120 to 150 per serving. One package serves approximately four people.

Savory Servings starts with Foster Farms premium, hand-trimmed, 99% fat-free chicken breasts. The chicken is then marinated for hours using the finest quality ingredients such as roasted garlic, honey and Dijon mustard, balsamic vinegar, sun dried tomatoes, basil and ginger.

Savory Servings can be found in the fresh meat section of supermarkets and food stores throughout the West.

Family-owned Foster Farms, based in Livingston, Calif., is the largest poultry producer in the western United States. Foster Farms produces and delivers more than 400 million pounds of fresh chicken and turkey each year to retailers throughout the West.
