040162 Cincinnati Kroger Stores Issue Roast Beef Recall

January 31, 2004

Cincinnati, OH - The recall of Private Selection roast beef was initiated after a sample taken from a Kroger deli service counter in Atlanta tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes, WLWT Eyewitness News 5 reported Wednesday.

The Private Selection roast beef was distributed to Kroger stores across the United States, including Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.

Customers who purchased the meat this month, and still have it in their refrigerators, can return it for a full refund. The roast beef should not be consumed. Anyone with questions can call (800) 632-6900.

Private Selection Angus roast beef and Cajun roast beef are not affected by the recall.
