031217 Undeclared Milk In Pinty’s Chicken Nuggets

Ottawa, Canada - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Pinty’s Premium Foods Inc. are warning consumers with allergies to milk not to consume Pinty’s brand Chicken Nuggets. This product may contain milk that is not declared on the label. This alert is of concern to those individuals who have allergies to milk.

The affected product, Pinty’s brand Chicken Nuggets, is sold in frozen 907 g boxes bearing UPC 069094010548 and establishment legend CANADA 530. The box also has the codes 3246 or 3230 embossed on the end panel with the ingredient listing.

The manufacturer, Pinty’s Premium Foods Inc., St. Catharines, Ontario, is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. This product has been distributed in Ontario.

Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk. There has been one reported illness associated with the consumption of this product.

The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
