031115 Wisconsin Beef Council Offers Promotion Help

November 8, 2003

Madison -- Wisconsin county beef promotion groups can now partner with the Wisconsin Beef Council to increase beef consumption and consumer awareness of beef's positive health aspects in their county.

County beef promotion groups are eligible to receive up to $500 from the WBC to help extend the WBC's promotional messages to the local level.

"This program will make beef checkoff dollars available to organized beef promotion groups to extend the impact of state beef promotions," comments Tod Fleming, WBC president.

"Qualified organizations will be approved for up to $500 in matching funds."

Any organization receiving WBC funding will be required to supply matching funds; complete a minimum of three promotion activities within their county by Sept. 1, 2004; and report activities and consumer reach back to the WBC.

Applications and more information is available by contacting the Wisconsin Beef Council by e-mail: wbc@beeftips.com; calling (800) 728-2333 or by writing: Wisconsin Beef Council, 680 Grand Canyon Drive, Madison, WI 53719.

Applications are due to the WBC office by April 15, 2004.
