030519 Farmland Foods Recalls Beef Frankfurters

Wichita, KS - Farmland Foods Inc. is voluntarily recalling about 22,400 pounds of beef frankfurters because they contain milk, an allergen not listed as an ingredient, the Food Safety and Inspection Service said.

The frankfurters, produced in Wichita, are:

* 10 pound boxes of Signature, Discover the Difference, item number 55250, production code 1063 or 0913. Product was produced between April 1-16 and distributed to food service institutions in Nebraska, Montana, Washington and North Dakota.

* 10 pounds boxes of Shamrock, Discover the Difference, item number 55251, production code 1223. Produced May 2 and sold to food service institutions in North Dakota and Washington.

* 10 pound boxes of Shamrock Beef Franks, item number 52483, production code 1223. Produced May 2 and sold to food service groups in Arizona.

* One pound vacuum-packs of Farmland, Proud to be Farmer Owned, Hickory Smoked, Deli Style Franks, Jumbo Beef. Dated Aug. 3 or Aug. 10 and were distributed to retail stores nationwide.

All the products bear the number EST.717W inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The food service agency said it has received no reports of illnesses associated with the products.
