030135 Burger King Intros 99 Cent Breakfast Menu

January 18, 2003

Miami, FL - On the heels of the popular 99 cent Original Whopper promotion earlier this month, Burger King Corporation announced that it will extend the savings from the lunch table to the breakfast table, by rounding out the month with a 99 cent Croissan'wich promotion. For a limited time, from January 20 through February 2, 2003, participating Burger King restaurants will give consumers a tasty, fast and inexpensive way to jump-start their mornings

"What better way to help start a day than with our most popular breakfast item, the Croissan'wich," said Rick Dow, senior vice president, marketing programs and sales, Burger King Corporation. "Our competition has been offering discounts on breakfast sandwiches, so we want to make sure our loyal Burger King customers can have it their way at breakfast with a 99 cent Croissan'wich sandwich."

Each Croissan'wich breakfast sandwich is a fresh, flaky croissant topped with egg and cheese and a choice of sausage, ham or bacon. Each year, Burger King restaurants use more than 297 million croissants for its Croissan'wich breakfast sandwiches. The recommended retail price for the breakfast sandwich is $1.59.

In-restaurant displays as well as national television advertising will support the 99 cent price for the sausage, egg and cheese Croissan'wich breakfast sandwich for a limited time.
