020818 Burger King Intros King Supreme Sandwiches For $2

August 17, 2002

Miami, FL - Burger King Corporation announced that it will offer customers a hot deal on a flame- broiled favorite: two King Supreme sandwiches for two dollars. The limited time offer, available at participating Burger KingŪ restaurants, will be promoted nationally beginning August 19, 2002.

"The King Supreme is one great sandwich! It's bigger than a Big MacŪ, with a special 'King' sauce, and it's flame-broiled. Never, ever fried. At two for two dollars, it's a great deal on a great sandwich," said Rick Dow, senior vice president, Marketing Programs & Services, Burger King Corporation.

The King Supreme sandwich has 37% more beef and less bread than a Big MacŪ and is flame-broiled. The King Supreme has a special King sauce, designed to enhance the flavor of the flame-broiled taste of its two hamburger patties. The sandwich, built on a sesame seed bun, is topped off with a slice of cheese, crisp shredded lettuce, onions and sliced pickles.

This announcement comes just as a nationwide independent survey confirms that consumers vote Burger KingŪ restaurants the "Best Place for Burgers," based on a June 2002 telephone survey of adults 18 and older who have eaten in a fast food hamburger restaurant in the previous 30 days.

The two for two-dollar program will be supported by a national general market advertising campaign as well as additional campaigns targeted towards the African American and Hispanic markets. The ads, which break on August 19th, were created by Amoeba, with collaborative work by Uniworld and Bromley.
