020736 Burger King Acquires 20 BK Unitds In VA

Miami, FL - Burger King Corporation announced that it has acquired a total of 20 restaurants in Norfolk, Virginia from the Cimm's Restaurant Group. All staff and management in the purchased restaurants were offered positions with Burger King Corporation. As a result of the purchase, Burger King Corporation now owns 598 U.S. restaurants, of which 43 are in the state of Virginia. Burger King Corporation is expected to invest capital in these newly acquired restaurants, including remodeling the facilities in the new Burger KingŪ image design, as well as kitchen and drive-thru enhancements.

The Cimm's Restaurant Groups remains one of the largest franchisees in the Burger KingŪ system with 100 restaurants in Houston, TX and Los Angeles, CA.
