020730 Performance Food Group Acquires MiddendorfJuly 14, 2002Richmond, VA - Performance Food Group announced that has completed the acquisition of Middendorf Meat Co., a privately-owned broadline foodservice distributor specializing in custom-cut steaks based in St. Louis, Mo. Middendorf generates annual sales of approximately $100 million, about half of which is represented by the distribution of custom-cut steaks. The company's customers include independent restaurants, private clubs, hotels and other prominent foodservice establishments in St. Louis and surrounding areas. Performance Food Group reported sales for 2001 of $3.2 billion. Performance Food Group markets and distributes more than 44,000 national and private label food and food-related products to approximately 33,000 restaurants, hotels, cafeterias, schools, healthcare facilities and other institutions.
