020717 Tyson Foods Creates New Position

Springdale, AR - Tyson Foods Inc., the world's largest meat company, has created a new position of senior vice president, commodity and trading risk management.

As the new senior vice president, Jean Mrha Beach will report to chairman and chief executive John Tyson. She will be responsible for evaluating market opportunities and risk factors in the company's commodity management and devising a way to make the most of economic returns, the company announced.

Beach has 13 years of experience in economic analysis, trading, and risk management. She has a bachelor's degree from Wellesley College and a master's degree in finance and accounting from the University of Chicago.

The new position was created after the company evaluated its needs with the purchase last year of meatpacker IBP Inc. of South Dakota.
