020136 Armour Pork Recalled for Undeclared Milk Protein

January 26, 2002

Atlanta, GA - Some Armour Premium Marinated Pork Loin Half, Onion and Garlic products are being recalled due to hydrolyzed milk protein not being declared on the label, according to Georgia Department of Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin.

"Anyone who needs to avoid milk should check for the pork loin product in their refrigerators and freezers," Commissioner Irvin said. "If the package codes and identification match, they should return them to where they were bought."

All of the packages are marked "ARMOUR PREMIUM MARINATED PORK LOIN HALF, ONION AND GARLIC" and weigh 3-1/2 to 5 pounds.

Each of the packages have the following:

* Product code 56610

* USE OR FREEZE BY: FEB13

* EST. 995 located in the USDA mark of inspection.

"Our sanitarians are assisting the U.S. Department of Agriculture in looking for this product on their routine inspections," Commissioner Irvin said.
