010917 ConAgra Poultry Recalls Chicken Product

ConAgra Poultry Company of Duluth, Ga., is voluntarily recalling from foodservice customers -- that is, institutions and eating establishments -- 10-pound cases of Pierce Marinata Italiani Style Fully Cooked Skinless Chicken Breast Fillets because the product did not meet minimum thermal processing temperatures. The risk of illness exists if the undercooked product is consumed; however, the product is distributed to foodservice customers, where normal procedures are to reheat it before serving. No illnesses have been reported to date.

The product is packed in 10-pound cases and distributed nationwide to foodservice operators. Pierce Marinata Italiani Style Fully Cooked Skinless Chicken Breast Fillets product codes are MIT-4037 and 002515. The product code is on the box-end label on the short end of the box. Recalled lot codes are FO1B1211, FO1B1213 and FO1B1215. The lot code is located on the long side of the box. ConAgra Poultry initiated the recall following a customer inquiry.

All foodservice customers who have purchased 10-pound cases of Pierce Marinata Italiani Style Fully Cooked Skinless Chicken Breast Fillets, product codes MIT-4037 and 002515, and lot codes FO1B1211, FO1B1213 and FO1B1215, have been contacted. The company has under its control 2,285 cases of the 4,086 cases of affected production.
