001126 Red Oak Farms - Europe Presenting Precooked Entrees

Red Oak, IA - Red Oak Hereford Farms, Inc. announced that, following its recent participation at the SIAL 2000 show in Paris, the company's European subsidiary, Red Oak Farms (ROF) Europe, has been invited to make specific retail program presentations to a number of European retailers and caterers, including Carrefour, Ahold, Metro, Loblaw, and Air France, to name a few.

“With production scheduled to commence in mid-November for a December 1, 2000 roll-out, our European team, led by Jan Schrasser, is now aggressively following up with contacts developed at the show to convert the many indications of interest to firm purchase commitments,” said Gordon Reisinger, president and chief executive officer.

Reisinger said that the company's program of precooked entrees, the first legitimate offering of this kind to be introduced in the European market, was also the most complete precooked entree program at the show. SIAL, the world's second largest food marketing show, attracted thousands of attendees, including industry executives and buyers from throughout the world. “Our booth was swamped for the entire show; the European enthusiasm for our precooked products was overwhelming,” said Reisinger.

Schrasser indicated that the Red Oak's seafood program was also extremely well received. Initial purchase commitments for the company's Royal Salmon of Norway products exceed 250 tons. Product is scheduled to be in stores by December 1, 2000, for inclusion in various Christmas plan-o-gram sets.

Founded in 1997, Red Oak Hereford Farms, Inc. produces and sells premium, branded, fresh beef and premium precooked products to retail, food service, mail order and e-commerce markets. The company also sells and distributes the award- winning beef jerky -- My Favorite Jerky. Through its European division, Red Oak Hereford Farms, Inc. manufactures and distributes My Favorite Jerky Beef Sticks, smoked salmon and other seafood, and will soon be producing its precooked products in Europe.
