991108 Poultry Worker Deaths InvestigatedNovember 3, 1999Berlin, MD - The Delmarva Poultry Justice Alliance says it's concerned about a number of poultry worker deaths across the county this year and is calling for an investigation. The group, which is made up of environmentalists, poultry workers and union representatives, says seven deaths have been reported this year. It is also calling for an investigation of the working conditions on chicken farms owned by Tyson Foods. One worker died at a Tyson's plant in Berlin, Maryland earlier this year. Tyson says it was the first fatality since the 1950's.
