990627 Meat Strike Planned in Washington IBP Plant

Pasco, WA - Striking teamsters at a meat processing plant in Pasco plan to expose what they call an “epidemic of unsanitary conditions” to the Department of Agriculture.

Union member Maria Martinez says nearly 850 workers at the IBP plant are on strike over worker and consumer safety. She says union members will demonstrate at USDA offices in Seattle, Pasco, and Portland this weekend.
