981215 Buffalo Hot Dogs Have Only 60 Calories & 3.5 Grams Fat

December 3, 1998

Huntington Valley, PA - They are gourmet and taste great, and will truly make a lasting impression for all seasons to come with grownups and kids alike.

New buffalo hot dogs from Heartland Buffalo taste just like fatty beef -- tender, juicy and sweet -- but have two-thirds less fat than a regular hot dog.

“Buffalo dogs also taste a whole lot better than the reduced-fat, chicken and turkey dogs currently available,” says Elliot Herman, President of Heartland Buffalo. “A gift from Heartland Buffalo will impress even the most hard to please,” he adds.

Familiar brands of beef dogs have about 150 calories and 12-14 grams of fat. Heartland Buffalo hot dogs have only 60 calories and 3.5 grams of fat.

“Buffalo is a non-endangered species that is raised steroid and hormone free. It should actually be part of a regular diet because it has less calories and fat than not only beef, but chicken, turkey, pork and surprisingly ... fish,” concludes Herman.

Heartland Buffalo dogs can be cooked just like regular dogs -- grilled, boiled, broiled or barbecued, and can be used in your favorite recipes. Put them in a bun with your favorite topping, or make healthier franks and beans, pigs in blankets, pea soup, etc. Any way you cook them, these buffalo dogs are simply delicious.
