Richmond, VA - Richfood Holdings, Inc. announced the appointment of four officers:
Calvin W. Sihilling has joined Richfood as Vice President and CIO - Wholesale Division. Sihilling comes to Richfood from Alex Lee, Inc., located in Hickory, North Carolina, where he was Vice President - Information Systems at the corporate level responsible for Merchants Distributor, Institution Food House and Lowe's Food Stores. Sihilling's experience will be invaluable heading up Richfood Wholesale's strategically critical information technology functions.
Sihilling is a graduate of Northrop Institute of Technology in Inglewood, California, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics.
James W. Weidenheimer has been promoted to Vice President and Chief Financial Officer - Wholesale Division. Weidenheimer was previously Vice President and Controller. Weidenheimer joined Richfood's Virginia Division in April 1995 as the controller. Prior to joining Richfood, Weidenheimer was Division Controller of Super Valu/Reading Division. In his new role, Weidenheimer will be responsible for providing direction to Richfood's wholesale operating divisions on all accounting and control issues.
Weidenheimer is a graduate of Kansas University, holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting/Business Administration and is a Certified Public Accountant.
John Kalita has been promoted to the position of Senior Vice President of Warehouse Operations for Richfood-Virginia Division. Kalita was previously the Vice President of Distribution and Logistics for Richfood-Virginia Division and has been employed with the Company since 1986.
Kalita is a graduate of Western Illinois University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Prior to Richfood, Kalita was affiliated with Certified Grocers of Illinois as a Warehouse Manager.
Jerry Diggle has been promoted to the position of Vice President of Marketing for Richfood-Virginia Division. Diggle was previously the Director of Marketing for Richfood-Virginia Division and has been employed with the Company since 1991.
Diggle has had a career in our industry for over 30 years. His experience includes being a Pricing Coordinator, Director of Grocery Sales, Merchandising Manager, Retail Operations Manager and Owner/Operator of a retail food store.
