980903 Household Spices May Kill E-Coli

Manhattan, KS - Common kitchen spices can kill the most dangerous strain of e-coli bacteria. Researchers at Kansas State University have found that garlic, cinnamon, cloves and other spices are good at killing the organism. In laboratory studies, garlic did the best... killing the bacteria completely in uncooked ground beef. Scientists say this discovery is important because it could provide an additional weapon against the toxic strain.
