980758 ConAgra To Buy Nabisco Brand Names

Omaha, Neb. - Foods giant ConAgra Inc. announced plans to acquire the Parkay, Blue Bonnet and Fleishmann brand names.

ConAgra has reached agreement with Nabisco Inc. to acquire that company's fat-free, cholesterol-free egg product Egg Beaters and its tablespreads businesses, which also include the Touch of Butter, Chiffon and Move Over Butter brand names.

Annual sales of the combined businesses are about $480 million. Terms of the cash transaction were not disclosed.

ConAgra, based in Omaha, is an international food company with annual sales of about $24 billion.

ConAgra's consumer brands include Healthy Choice and Banquet frozen foods, Butterball turkey and chicken, Hunt's tomato products, Orville Redenbacher's popcorn, Van Camp's beans, Wesson oil and Swiss Miss cocoa pudding products.
