Lansing, MI - The nation's largest livestock marketing cooperative will become a division of the giant Southern States Cooperative Inc. Officials say the Michigan Livestock Exchange, which handled $700 million worth of animals last year, and Richmond, Va.- based Southern States, which did $1.2 billion worth of crop-supply business last year, will merge April 1.
