OMAHA, Neb - ConAgra Inc said it acquired Hester Industries Inc in a stock transaction that will be accounted for as a pooling of interests.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Hester Industries, also known in the food industry as Pierce Foods, is a privately owned manufacturer of value-added poultry products marketed primarily to foodservice outlets. Hester is based in Winchester, Va.
Jeffrey Hester will continue to manage the business as an independent operating company within ConAgra Frozen Foods.
